Curriculum Development

The Heartland Center has developed curriculum for a variety of groups and government agencies over the years that have been met with great success. Most of the Center's projects have had a curriculum, from simple to complex, such as a one day seminar for a group of urban planners to a week long rural community development retreat. Generally speaking, curriculum is designed to encourage personal reflection and interactive peer learning through brief presentations, activities that tie learning to personal community place and context, resource materials for both in-classroom and back-home study, and homework assignments that create active learning and increase continuity between sessions. Whatever your needs, the Heartland Center can develop a curriculum to help you create results. The staff and associates at the Center have years of experience in developing curricula in a language that people can understand, and will work with your agency or group to build one tailor made to your community or organization.

Some topics include:

  • Tribal Economic Development
  • Rural Community Leadership Development
