Heartland
Center welcomes two new staff members
Mary Emery
Going from Idaho's
Snake River to the Platte River in Nebraska offers a very different
landscape and perspective. Beginning in November, Mary Emery becomes
the newest Heartland Center program associate. Formerly the director
of the Institute for Community Development at Lewis-Clark State
College in Lewiston, Idaho, Mary brings a wealth of rural development
and training experience to the Heartland Center.
Currently a
member of the Community Development Society's board of directors,
Mary is also involved in the Joining Rivers Services, which targets
special needs families. Friends will see Mary doing a lot of traveling
in the future since her position will include work on the Rural
Community College Initiative (through the North Central Regional
Center for Rural Development in Iowa) as well as several Heartland
Center Projects. Mary's new email address is: memery@heartlandcenter.info.
Scott Biehle
Scott Biehle
has joined the Heartland Center as an administrative assistant.
Recently moving back to Lincoln after a computer help desk job in
Omaha, Scott and his computer skills are a much welcome addition
to the staff. His responsibilities will include web page maintenance
and desktop publishing.
