Bankers
as community leaders
With the sponsorship
of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines, Heartland Center staff
will be offering leadership training in Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota,
South Dakota and Missouri. Teams of local bankers and their community
guests will attend the two-day sessions in each state.
Goals
for the sessions focus on how to identify, nurture and support leaders
in communities, how to model leadership and how to assume various
leadership roles. A unique follow-up plan is in place that will
offer technical assistance to communities that participate in the
training. If interested, a community may apply for a board skills
training session, strategic planning or a town hall meeting. Heartland
Center staff would then provide the technical assistance.
Workshop
dates have not yet been confirmed but are planned for April through
October 2002. For more information, please contact Vicki Luther
