to get leadership training
The
Heartland Center will bring its leadership training to Lincoln,
Nebraska, neighborhoods beginning this spring with a kick-off event
in April and continuing with a series of workshops scheduled next
fall. A Spring Training Day, scheduled for April 27, 2002, will
be one of the first major events at the new F Street Recreation

on Using the Internet will be held as well, tentatively

Afternoon
sessions will preview the fall series of workshop topics for neighborhood
associations, such as, maintaining membership, working with the
media, and managing meetings.
An autumn workshop
series, held over a period of approximately two months, will build
leadership skills to strengthen neighborhood associations. Topics
tentatively include, in addition to those indicated above:
fund-raising
managing conflict

leadership styles
This
project is co-sponsored by the City of Lincoln Department of Urban
