Annual Institutes Draw Commuinty
Developers to Jackson Hole, Wyoming


In May the Heartland Center will offer two spring training institutes in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. First held in 1997 with support from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, Skill-Building for Stronger Communities is an advanced program for community leaders and community practitioners, focusing attention on cases that participants bring from their work back home.

Now in its second year, Strengthening the Rural-Urban Connection focuses on issues found in common in rural and urban communities and strategies to strengthen rural-urban connections. It was developed with support from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation and the William Randolph Hearst Foundation.

Helping Small Towns Succeed
has been held each fall since 1992. It was developed with W.K. Kellogg Foundation support and is designed as a basic or introductory course in community development for professionals or practitioners newer
to the profession.

Skill-Building for Stronger Communities is scheduled for May 14–17, 2003. Strengthening the Rural-Urban Connection will be held May 19–20, 2003 and Helping Small Towns Succeed will be offered October 23–27, 2003. All three are held at Snow King Resort in the town of Jackson, Wyoming.
